Canon has expanded their Pixma Pro line of professional photography printers with the addition of two new models, the Pixma Pro-10 and the Pixma Pro-100.
The new 13-inch printers join the Pixma Pro-1 announced at the end of last year at the Canon Legends Event and will offer customers wireless connectivity, faster print speeds, Pro Mode and a new Print Studio Pro plug-in.
The Pro Mode helps define the color gamut for the perfect balance of brightness and saturation while taking into consideration of human perception in regards to color accuracy. The Pro Mode will also be available as an upgrade to current Pixma Pro-1 users in 2013.
The Print Studio Pro plug-in software offers a simple-to-use photo printing solution for a variety of applications including Photoshop, Photoshop Lightroom and Photoshop Elements. With the new user-interface, customers can adjust page formats, layouts, color management and printer settings.
The Pixma Pro-10 features a 10-ink LUCIA pigment based ink system with three monochrome inks, six color inks and the Chroma optimizer, which helps to eliminate gloss differential on gloss and semi-gloss papers. The Pixma Pro-10 offers 13 x 19-inch prints in as fast as five minutes and 20 seconds.
The Pixma Pro-100 features an 8-ink ChromaLife 100 dye-based ink system which also offers three monochrome inks and 13 x 19-inch print speeds in as fast as 90 seconds.
The Canon Pixma Pro-10 and Pixma Pro-100 Professional inkjet printers are expected to sell for $699 and $499, respectively.
