Canon U.S.A. today announced several major initiatives to enhance the Canon Managed Document Services (Canon MDS) program that are designed to help channel partners effectively deliver innovative, forward-thinking services, business improvements and satisfaction.
The new initiatives target the national service infrastructure for Canon’s authorized dealer channel, environmental sustainability and new solutions aimed at improving efficiency across a broad range of single office to multi-fleet enterprise-level engagements.
“Dealers are on the front line working with clients to help them with their document management requirements. Manufacturers, like Canon, need to work closely with the dealers to provide them with the tools that will help the channel work most effectively with their clients,” said Larry Jamieson, Director, Hard Copy, Industry Advisory Service at Lyra Research.
The new initiatives enhancing Canon MDS include:
- National Service & Support Infrastructure: The Canon Major Account Program (CMAP) provides infrastructure for centralized service dispatch, billing and help desk support for customers with multiple locations across the country. The CMAP program is designed to help authorized Canon Dealers more easily support geographically dispersed customer locations under a common operating model.
- Environmental Sustainability: Canon will provide, in 2011, a new Ecology Information Plug-in for its widely utilized centralized network management solution, imageWare Enterprise Management Console. The plug-in provides accurate measurement and analysis of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions based on power consumption and paper volume usage. The Ecology Information Plug-in also provides a highly visual and intuitive 3-D graphical display for insight into these metrics as well as the capability to make changes in printing behavior and meet corporate targets based on estimations of CO2 emissions.
- Multi-Fleet Engagements: Canon will provide dealers with multi-fleet sales engagements a new cost calculator to facilitate accurate cost-analysis data across an entire print fleet of Canon brand devices. Canon will also provide the Remote Diagnostic System (RDS) Plug-in for imageWare Enterprise Management Console.
- Solution enhancements for Greater Efficiency: uniFlow V5.0 features a variety of new capabilities and functions that streamline fleet management and simplify workflow processes allowing end users and network administrators to focus on their core job functions.
Canon U.S.A. has been delivering managed print services for more than ten years.
