Canon Announces Software for Cloud Portals

Canon is now in the loop and has risen to the demands of the ever-growing cloud technology and services.

Today Canon announced that its software used to access the Microsoft SharePoint cloud portal and Google Docs directly can be downloaded as a free application to use for imageRUNNER ADVANCE office systems. The software will allow its users to scan, print, and store paperless documents put onto the cloud from any device with the power to access it. After a document stored is stored on the cloud, the services can be found directly from the MFP panel.

The cloud does not work through a server, so no additional hardware will be required to use its services or to establish a direct connection. The cloud will enable users access to their documents from anywhere, using any type of device that can connect to the Internet–meaning a Wi-Fi-enabled tablet or smartphone could even access it. The only other software that must be installed is the Canon Direct Print Kit or PS Printer Kit on the imageRUNNER office system. Canon said the application is designed to facilitate printing, accessing, and scanning all documents easily.

The software for imageRUNNER advance office systems can now be downloaded directly from Canon’s website.
