Along with the announcement of the MFC-9000 multifunction color laser series, Brother also introduced six new single function laser printers targeted at the SOHO (small office, home office) market.
Split into two series, the HL-2200 monochrome laser series and the HL-4000 color laser series, all six new units offer prints speeds over 20 ppm and high-capacity replacement toner cartridges.
The HL-2200 monochrome laser series is comprised of three models all priced under $150: HL-2240, HL-2240d and the HL-2270dw.
The HL-2240 is the base model of the series with print speeds up to 24 ppm, a print resolution up to 2400 x 600 dpi, 250-sheet paper tray, a single sheet manual paper slot, 8 MB of memory and a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connection for $119.
The HL-2240d offers all of the above features plus automatic duplexing for $10 more ($129).
The flagship HL-2270dw features print speeds up to 27 ppm, automatic duplexing, a 250-sheet paper tray and built-in networking with Wi-Fi.
The entire HL-2200 series is Energy Star qualified and features a 1-year limited warranty with exchange.
The HL-4000 color laser series is also comprised of three units: the HL-4150cdn, the HL-4570cdw and the HL-4570cdwt.
The entry level HL-4150cdn offers print speeds up to 25 ppm in both color and black, print resolution up to 2400 x 600 dpi, automatic duplexing, a 300-sheet paper tray, built-in networking and a front side USB port for $399.
The HL-4570cdw has all the above features plus increased print speeds up to 30 ppm, Wi-Fi, a greater monthly duty cycle up to 60,000 pages and a 1-year on-site limited warranty for $499.
The HL-4570cdwt is identical to the HL-4570cdw with the addition of a second 500-sheet paper tray for $599.
The HL-4000 color laser series will be available starting in October 2010.
