Asus Showcases New Ultra-thin ROG GX500 Gaming Notebook with 4K Screen

ASUS ROG GX500The Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) GX500 is a new ultra-thin notebook designed to deliver exceptional gaming performance in a thin and light notebook.  The 15.6-inch GX500 measures just 19mm (0.75 inch) thick and weighs just 2.2kg (4.85lbs) but it squeezes some impressive specs into a relatively small notebook.

The GX500 features the latest Intel Core i7 processors, Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M graphics, 4K/UHD display with 3840 x 2160-pixel resolution and ASUS’ exclusive VisualMaster technology to provide a 100% NTSC wide color gamut, which is a world-first on a notebook.

Similar to the recently announced Gigabyte Aorus X3, the ROG GX500 also includes a M.2 SSD running on a full PCIe x4 connection, and features a dual-fan cooling system to keep thermals low enough so your laptop won’t overheat when you’re playing the latest games on the highest detail settings.

GX500Asus hasn’t announced pricing at the time of this writing, but Asus representatives have confirmed the GX500 will be available in multiple configurations and prices starting in Q3 2014 … just in time to end up on the Christmas wish lists of PC gamers everywhere.
