Asus N82JV-X1: Our Deal of the Week

by Reads (5,729)

The Asus N82JV-X1 is a well-rounded 14-inch multimedia notebook with an Intel Core i5 processor and NVIDIA G335M graphics. This notebook can now be yours for the sale price of $699; that’s $300 off the list price on Amazon.

We started the review of the Asus N82JV-X1 off by saying that the specifications of it are solid for a notebook of its size. We were referring to the CPU with 2.40GHz and 2.66GHz Turbo Boost, NVIDIA graphics card switchable to integrated Intel HD graphics, the USB 3.0 port, and the 4GB of DDR3-1066 dual-channel RAM. As you can see in the product image above, the interesting copper color scheme could be something that adds to the outward appeal and style of the system too.

We said the overall build quality is excellent because of its tough internal frame and aluminum display cover. As far as the display quality itself goes, the included Asus display mode function allows users to switch between different viewing schemes such as “Vivid” and “Theater” modes. This feature can work nicely to improve the overall viewing experience of the notebook.

The system also includes what we called an “impressive array of ports,” including the previously mentioned USB 3.0, 8-in-1 card reader, VGA, HDMI, two more USB 2.0, and more…rounding it off into a true multimedia notebook.

The 6-cell Li-ion battery with a 47Whr rating was tested by us to deliver almost 4 hours of unplugged life.

Other specs and features:

  • 1366×768 screen resolution, LED backlit, glossy
  • Windows Home Premium 64-bit
  • 500GB Seagate hard drive at 7200RPM
  • 1-year limited warranty with 1-year accidental damage coverage
  • Weight: 5.06 lbs
