It’s not great news for NVIDIA when their board partners start selling their competitors’ products. If nothing else, it damages their reputation in the eyes of potential customers. In this case XFX, known already for quality NVIDIA cards, has become a full AMD add-in-board partner.
XFX is planning on delivering ATI 4000 series cards early next year. They promise to carry over some of the things XFX is known for, like custom drivers and factory overclocked boards.
The big news here is that XFX is a very well known NVIDIA-only manufacturer. Is this move to also start producing ATI cards a sign of the worsening global economy? Or is it simply another sign that NVIDIA, who has suffered more than their fair share of bad news in recent months, has a long way to go in order to regain their standing in the eyes of gamers everywhere?
