An inside look at the MSI Wind desktop

TweakTown has taken an up close and personal look at the new MSI Wind desktop.

The models on display had an Intel Atom CPU, 1GB DDR2-533 RAM, a 160GB SATA hard drive, Gigabit Ethernet, and a DVD combo drive. Power comes from a 65-watt AC adapter.

Underpinning the Wind is a micro-ATX motherboard with passive cooling. It has two memory DIMM slots, two SATA ports, one PCI slot, and an IDE port.

MSI showed the Wind desktop playing back a 720p video clip with no problems. The Wind desktop has achieved Energy Star 4.0 compliance, which is not an easy feat. It uses only 30 watts of power with a 1.6GHz processor, and no more than 35.
