On Tuesday at E3 in Los Angeles, AMD unveiled its newest and most powerful addition to its family of AMD FX CPUs, the AMD FX -9590. The new 8-core CPU is geared specifically at high-end gaming and performance and boasts impressive speeds as the first commercially available 5 GHz CPU processor. AMD FX-9000 Series CPUs will be available initially via system integrators.
The top-end models of the FX-9000 series, the FX-9590 and the FX-9370 feature “Piledriver” architecture, which is unlocked for easy overclocking to allow enthusiasts to enjoy higher speeds and performance gains. The processors also feature AMD Turbo Core 3.0 to optimize performance across CPU cores and increasing computing.
