The reference designs include a really fascinating development – there are a full five digital outputs on the back of the card, including two DVI, two mini-DisplayPorts and a single HDMI out.  In terms of power requirements, the 6870 will require two 6-pin PCI-E power connectors while the 6850, surprisingly looks to just need one.

Stay tuned for more news this Friday as AMD makes everything official. In the meantime, however, be sure to check out our gallery full of pristine press images.
