According to sources, AMD is planning to introduce new Phenom X4 quad-core processors this year with lower power consumption and 45nm technology.
AMD plans to launch two 45nm X4 CPUs this year with frequencies ranging from 2.4 – 2.8GHz. The company plans to roll out a 95W version of its current 125W Phenom X4 9750 this quarter, and will introduce a 95W 9850 and an updated 9950 by the end of this year. The low-power X4 9350e and 8450e are scheduled to launch in the second quarter, while the 9150e will not launch until the third quarter.
If testing goes well, the 45nm Phenom X4s should reach the consumer market by the end of November.
