The next generation in Adobe’s industry-standard content creation software, Creative Suite 5, is finally out. With the update, Adobe has introduced a number of new features that will no doubt have creative types everywhere scrambling for their wallets.  CS5 updates most of the company’s big-name software titles, including the mind-bogglingly popular Photoshop series.

The full list of available software includes:

  • Photoshop CS5
  • Photoshop CS5 Extended
  • Illustrator CS5
  • InDesign CS5
  • Acrobat 9 Pro
  • Flash Catalyst CS5
  • Flash Professional CS5
  • Flash Builder 4 Standard
  • Dreamweaver CS5
  • Fireworks CS5
  • Contribute CS5
  • Premiere Pro CS5
  • After Effects CS5
  • Soundbooth CS5
  • OnLocation CS5
  • Bridge CS5
  • Device Central CS5
  • Dynamic Link

In addition to buying software titles separately, Adobe packages them together in five different packs: Design Standard, Design Premium, Production Premium, Web Premium and Master Collection.  None of the packs come cheaply, however, ranging in price from $1,299 to $2,599. If you already own a recent version of the software, you can upgrade for $499 to $899, depending on which package you bought.

Although most software in the suite is not yet available (Adobe expects the titles to ship around the middle of next month), users can try pretty much all of it for free when it does by going to Adobe’s CS5 download page.
