On Tuesday ADATA introduced a new external storage device to the company’s DashDrive Choice family, the HC630 HDD. Equipped with a 3.0 interface the HC630 will look to break the mold with its flashy metallic design.
Boasting a slim form factor, the device will only weigh 5.6 ounces and will measure in at 4.5″ x 3.0″ x 0.6″. The flashy metal external storage device will stand out from the crowd with is sparkling etched pattern. To complement the daring aesthetic the device will be outfitted with an LED indicator that will not only serve to enhance the visual aesthetics, but inform users of the transfer status of the drive.
Underneath its decorative exterior the HC630 is all business with its 2.5″ SATA HDD, which according to ADATA will provide high-speed data transfer in temperatures ranging from 41℉ to 121℉. Consumers who purchase a HC630 will also receive access to ADATA’s proprietary HDDtoGo software for free. HDDtoGo offers additional security with various encryption and synchronization functions.
The DashDrive Choice HC630 will be available in 500GB and 1TB variants from Amazon and Newegg online retailers for $55 and $70 respectively. Both models will be backed by a three-year warranty.
