On Wednesday, ADATA announced its new ultra-thin solid state drive (SSD) the DashDrive Elite SE720. Equipped with a SuperSpeed SSD, the DashDrive Elite SE720 will combine the slim form factor and metallic design of the DashDrive Elite HE720 portable hard drive with high-performance NAND Flash storage solutions.
The USB 3.0 device will afford all the benefits of SSD performance including high shock resistance, quiet operation, and low power consumption. The DashDrive Elite SE720 will also offers strong performance with read speeds up to 400MB/sec and write speeds up to 300MB/sec.
The portable USB 3.0 storage device will feature a brushed stainless steel surface and an 8.9mm thickness. The slim portable external drive will also offer a protective scratch resistant cover. The device will be equipped with a bright blue LED indicator that will notify users of power and data transfer status. The device will also come with ADATA’s “One touch backup” software feature, which will allow users to automatically backup and synchronize data with one touch. The DashDrive Elite SE720 will be compatible with Windows To Go, a feature that will let Windows 8 Enterprise users boot any computer directly from the external SSD.
The DashDrive Elite SE720 will be available in 128GB and 256GB variants. ADATA has yet to release specific pricing for the external SSD device, but both models will be available for purchase from Amazon.com and Newegg.com online retailers.
