Acer’s Aspire Predator gaming systems finally launch in the US
We’ve all see the pictures of the crazy orange desktop that looks like an alien spaceship is opening — and I mean that in the coolest, most complimentary way possible.
Acer is finally bringing the systems stateside, and the systems come with some interesting features, like liquid cooling at even the least expensive level.
The $1699 configuration has the following specifications:
- liquid-cooled 2.5GHz Q9300
- GeForce 9600GT
- 4GB RAM
- dual 640GB hard drives
The $2199 model bumps it up to the following:
- 2.83GHz Q9550
- GeForce 9800GTX
- 4GB RAM
- 3 640GB hard drives
The G24 is the orange-rimmed 24″ LCD pictured next to the gaming system above, and will be sold for $399. It offers WUXGA (1920×1200) resolution, 2ms response time, a 160-degree viewing angle and a 50,000:1 contrast ratio. The systems are available now, and while I can’t say how great the performance is (although, given the specs, it’s going to be pretty good), the look is outstanding.
