Today must be a busy day at Acer HQ, with the company announcing multiple new Aspire laptops, including updated ultra-thin TimelineX models.

Let’s take it from the top, or at least from the thinnest and lightest. The ultraportable Aspire TimelineX gets new found power and efficiency, with new Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 CPU offerings. The 11.6-inch Aspire TimelineX 1830T-68U118 model features a an ultra-low-voltage Core i7 680UM (clocked at 1.46GHz, which ramps up to 2.53GHz with Turbo Boost), 4GB of DDR3 memory, and a 500GB hard drive. It weighs 3.1 pounds, offers 8 hours of battery life, and costs $899. Other new TimelineX models include the 13.3-inch 3820T, 14-inch 4820T, and the 15.6-inch 5820T. These models feature Core i3 and Core i5 processors.

Elsewhere on store shelves, holiday shoppers will find four new mainstream Aspire laptop lines announced today: the 15.6-inch Aspire 5742G starting at $750, the 15.6-inch Aspire AS5745 starting at $650, the 17.3-inch AS7745 starting at $800, and the Aspire AS8943G starting at $1,449. The most notable among the new intros is the $999 Aspire AS5742DG model, which features an Intel Core i5 processor, Nvidia’s new GeForce GT 420M graphics, and Nvidia’s 3D Vision technology. The other 15.6-inch model announced today, the AS5742G, doesn’t do 3D, but its 2D graphics can automatically switch between integrated and discrete graphics, thanks to Nvidia’s Optimus technology. The 17.3-inch AS7745 features quad-core Core i7 processors and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics.

Rounding out the new Aspire offerings is the 18.4-inch AS8943G. This high-end desktop replacement features quad-core Intel Core i7, ATI Radeon 5850 graphics with 2GB of VRAM, and a huge display capable of 1080p playback.
