Acer Intros New Dual-Core Aspire Netbooks

Acer has introduced several new Aspire One netbooks featuring dual-core Intel and AMD processors. The new models include the AOD255 with a dual-core Intel Atom N550 processor and the AO521 and AO721 featuring dual-core AMD Athlon II Neo processors.

The AOD255 features the new Intel Atom N550 dual-core processor, integrated Intel graphics, and up to a claimed eight hours of battery life. It has a 10.1-inch screen, 93% full-size keyboard, is one inch thin and weighs just over 2.5 lbs. Other specifications include 1GB of RAM, a 250GB 5400RPM hard drive, and Windows 7 Starter. The AOD255 is available in four colors — red, black, brown, and aquamarine.

The AO521 and AO721 feature AMD Athlon II Neo dual-core processors and 384MB ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics. The AO721 has an 11.6-inch display, full-size keyboard, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB 5400RPM hard drive, Windows 7 Home Premium, and up to a claimed six hours of battery life. The AO521 is smaller with a 10.1-inch screen, 2.75-lb weight, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB 5400RPM hard drive, and Windows 7 Starter.

Availability
The AOD255 with the dual-core Atom N550 processor has an MSRP $329.99; the single-core N450 variant is $269.99. The AO721 is $429.99 and the AO521 is $349.99. All three netbooks will be available later this month.
