We attended a media event tonight in which companies such as Gateway, IBM / Lenovo, HP, AMD, Targus and Toshiba were showing off their latest products. Following are a few of the sights and news bits we picked up while at the event.
The FCC slipped up and released pictures of the IBM/Lenovo X41 Tablet PC a few weeks ago. We had actually test drove the device months ago and had to bit our tongues as information leaked out. But now the X41 Tablet is here and has IBM done Tablet right. The X41 is the lightest, most secure convertible tablet on the market.
IBM has announced that China's Lenovo Group Ltd. will buy and control IBM's PC making business for $1.25 Billion. IBM pioneered the PC business 23 years ago and leaves as it views profit margins too narrow to be worth pursuing any longer. Lenovo will take control of the IBM PC business in the 2nd Quarter of 2005.
