Samsung CLP-770nd first look

The Samsung CLP-770nd is hailed as one of the best in its class when it comes to speed, reliability, durability and price according to Buyers Lab Inc. (BLI).

Of course, after hearing such a glowing endorsement, we were excited to review this snazzy model. Today, we’ll take a hands-on first look at the Samsung CLP-770nd with a rundown of features, build and design, and plenty of photos.

When it comes to appearance, the Samsung CLP-770nd resembles any office laser printer. The compact boxy casing is a blend of grays with a simple control panel and a small Samsung logo on the front of the printer. The dimensions for the CLP-770nd are about 19 x 18 x 18 inches in its standard configuration and it weighs 63 pounds with no paper loaded.

The top of the CLP-770nd stands out in dark gray and can hold up to 250 sheets of finished product. It’s also where users can locate the simple but effective control panel. The CLP-770nd features a four line LCD with a touch compass dial and four quick keys for easy navigation.


Get access to the toner cartridges by pulling the handle on the front of the CLP-770nd and opening the door.  Users will find four cartridges (CMYK) that yield about 7,000 pages before replacement. Additionally, the transfer belt can produce up to 50,000 images before replacement.

Users will find the 100-sheet bypass tray on the front of the CLP-770nd. Bypass trays are great for unique media such as envelopes, labels and transparencies.

The 500-sheet standard cassette is located below the bypass tray; it holds media up to 59 pounds and 8.5 x 14 inches.  Businesses with high paper needs can add up to two additional 500-sheet paper trays to the CLP-770nd.

The connection ports are located on the right side of the machine. The CLP-770nd can be connected via a 10/100 Base T Ethernet or Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connection. Samsung also offers a wireless option for an additional cost.


The Samsung CLP-770nd is available now through Samsung’s website, authorized reseller or online retailers for the suggested retail value of $999.99.  As of this writing, Samsung was selling the CLP-770nd online for $899.99 plus tax.

Accessories can be purchased through local retailers or authorized resellers.

The Samsung CLP-770nd comes with a one-year limited warranty for parts and labor.
