Printer Tip No. 7

Standing Alone

When it comes to marketing techniques, more for less is usually a primary selling point. You get three devices for the price of one! Why would anyone want to purchase a single function photo printer when they can get a photo printer plus a scanner and copier in one convenient package?

Because often when you bundle several products into one package, all three products are less capable then their stand alone counterparts. The prints aren’t as vibrant, the scans aren’t as detailed and the copies are slower.

This might not be an issue if you are a student in a small dorm room or a family with diverse needs but for a professional who wants the best photo prints for their client or an artist who needs the highest resolution scans or a business that runs with only the fastest output, stand alone devices are crucial.

Photo inkjet printers and single function laser printers are important to professionals who want the best quality with the least amount of hassle. Basic features, high quality output, manageable speeds, a low initial cost and standard consumables are all attractive qualities you’ll find with single function devices.

So maybe the question you ask yourself should be, why pay for three average devices when I could pay less for a high quality single function device?
