As we shared on Monday, Kodak announced two new print apps that will change the way their customers interact with Facebook by bringing previously digital content to life through collages, photo books, calendars and more.
The two new applications – My Kodak Moments and Kodak Photo Collage Print – are easy to use with any of Kodak’s wireless enabled AIOs and can be downloaded for free to a variety of mobile devices including Android and Apple products as well as your PC.
The My Kodak Moments App works with the Kodak Gallery to pull pictures from your Facebook albums as well as your friends Facebook albums and create unique content including premium photos book, t-shirts, mugs, calendars and more. Just remember that the resolution might not be as great for larger images (think 8×10’s and larger).
I personally have used the Kodak Gallery to create a photo book and found it very easy to use with a variety of options including templates, captioned pages, borders and collage style layouts. Depending on the size of the book you choose and how many pages you want, you can get a photo book for $11.99. And as of this writing, when you join Kodak Gallery, they will give you 50 free prints.
The Kodak Photo Collage Print App claims to be the “first photo collage home printing app on Facebook” letting users create a photo collage from you and your friends’ Facebook albums. Jean-Henri Cote, Software Product Manager, Inkjet Systems, gave us a demo at their booth in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The application is easy to use; simply sign into your Facebook account and select the Photo Collage Print App from Kodak’s page. You’ll need to grant Kodak permission to access basic info, photos, etc. Once the app is installed, you can pull pictures from your photo albums as well as friends’ albums and pop them into a variety of templates. Edit photos, change the size and adjust the position then either send the collage to your printer or share it with a friend.
Jean-Henri Cote also demoed the Kodak Document Print App available for Android mobile devices that was announced in December.
