HP introduced four new Officejet printers targeted at small and medium sized businesses at the end of March. Today, we’ll be sharing our exclusive hands-on first look at the Officejet 6700 Premium e-All-in-one.

The Officejet 6700 Premium e-All-in-One offers scan, copy, print and fax functionality in a sleek, compact footprint. It also features the fastest print speeds in the lineup at 16 ppm in black and 9 ppm in color with plenty of extras including a first side USB port, automatic duplexing and both wired and wireless connectivity.

Build & Design

The Officejet lineup continues to get better looking over the years; I really like the sleek, matte black finish, the design of the 35-sheet ADF with a unique flip up panel and the adjustable control panel. With the approximate dimensions of 18 x 19 x 10-inches in non use and 18 x 23 x 10-inches with the output tray extended, the Officejet 6700 Premium can easily fit on a desktop.

As I mentioned, the 35-sheet automatic document feeder is uniquely designed but still maintains functionality. Users can scan, copy or fax large documents up to 8.5 x 14-inches through the ADF or use the single sheet flatbed scanner for documents and images up to 8.5 x 11.7-inches. The Officejet 6700 Premium offers an optical scan resolution up to 1200 dpi and scan-to features such as scan-to USB, scan-to email or scan-to networked PC.

The 2.65-inch touchscreen control panel is adjustable and allows users to access their main standalone devices as well as a plethora of web-connected applications. The Officejet 6700 Premium also offers HP ePrint for mobile printing from “virtually anywhere.” The front side USB port is located on the bottom left hand side.

Pull open the front panel on the left side of the device to access the HP Original 932 and 933 ink cartridges (CMYK). The Officejet 6700 Premium comes with a set of starter cartridges, but HP offers high capacity 932XL and 933XL cartridge replacements.

The Officejet 6700 Premium has a 250-sheet paper tray with a maximum duty cycle up to 12,000 pages. The tray can hold a variety of media up to legal size including but not limited to: envelopes, index cards, photo paper and Japanese postcards.

Find all connections on the back of the Officejet 6700 Premium along with the detachable duplexing unit offering users easy access to the paper path. Connectivity options include: Hi-Speed USB 2.0, Ethernet and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
