BUILD AND DESIGN
The HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer is designed to travel with business professionals for a variety of printing on the go so it makes sense that the dimensions are the smallest I’ve seen for an inkjet printer. In non use, the Officejet 100 measures in at approximately 14 x 7 x 3 inches and weighs less than 6 lbs with the battery attached (but no consumables).
It features a pretty slick silver design with black touches and a few HP logos. In order to print, users will need to flip open the printer revealing the rear fed paper tray and pull open the front panel to allow for the finished product (your desk or other surface is essential the output tray/bin).
The Officejet 100 can hold up to 50-sheet of 8.5 x 11 inch paper (letter) as well as a variety of other media including: legal paper, envelopes, 3 x 5 inch cards and photo paper. There is a monthly duty cycle of 500 pages, which coincidentally is roughly the same number of pages the lithium-ion battery can print with a full charge.
Flip open the second panel located below the paper tray and four button control panel to reveal the two ink cartridge system. HP provides two cartridges in the original packaging – the HP 98 Black ink (yields approx. 420 pages) and the HP 95 Tri-color ink (yields approx. 330 pages). The Officejet 100 is also compatible with higher yield cartridges including the HP 94 Black (yields approx. 480 pages) and the HP 97 Tri-color (yields approx. 560 pages).
On the back of the printer, users will find all connections including the USB 2.0 and PictBridge ports. Also, found on the back of the Officejet 100 is the detachable lithium-ion battery.
