Build and Design
HP sticks with the black paneling and sleek design we’ve seen on past LaserJet models for the LaserJet Pro 400 M425dn. The dimensions come in approximately at 17 x 15 x 17 inches in non use, but you’ll need to consider the multipurpose tray, legal-size tray extension and the ADF when setting up the M425dn because they’ll increase the dimensions to approximately 17 x 25 x 26 inches in use.
The 50-sheet automatic document feeder is located on top of the flatbed scanner and offers users automatic double-sided scans, copies and faxes up to 8.5 x 14 inches. The flatbed scanners maximum scan size is up to 8.5 x 11.7 inches.
As the first web-connected monochrome MFP in HP’s laser lineup, the M425dn has a 3.5-inch color touchscreen control panel and comes with a variety of business applications that can be configured by the customer. The control panel is located to the right of the 150-sheet output bin.
Press the button located at the front of the output bin to gain access to the single black toner cartridge. The M425dn comes with the standard capacity 80A cartridge, but customers can also purchase a high capacity 80X replacement cartridge.
The 50-sheet multipurpose tray folds out from the front of the MFP while the 250-sheet cassette pulls out from the bottom. The cassette can extend to fit media up to legal size, and businesses that have a larger print volume can add a 500-sheet cassette.
The front side USB port is located to the left of the paper tray and allows users to walk up to the M425dn and print from or scan to a flash drive.
All the connections are found on the back of the M425dn and access to the paper path.
