HP ePrint: Print from the Cloud this Summer

by Reads (5,471)

It’s hard to imagine a workplace requiring execs to bring printers along on vacation, but printing emergencies do arise, often thanks to compliance and security policies. What’s the vacationing exec to do, lug a printer along for the trip?

Thanks to HP’s ePrint technology that won’t be necessary, as documents can be printed remotely to safe and secure enterprise-class printers.

The ePrint platform was first announced last June in conjunction with several new consumer models, but it didn’t take long for HP to unveil business class models featuring the new technology later that fall, allowing all HP customers – consumers, SMB and enterprise alike – to print custom content from the cloud.

While there are other cloud printing services available, none are as simple as ePrint, which only requires a connection for email. The ePrint platform allows users to print to any HP web connected printer from any application, any device, anywhere by giving each new device an email address. Users will then be able to print from any device that has email access by simply inputting the printer’s unique email address.

Along with the ePrint Platform comes the HP ePrintCenter, an online hub for users to register products, track their ePrint jobs, configure device settings remotely, and browse all print applications.

Some recently reviewed ePrint-capable business-class printers include HP’s LaserJet CM1415fnw, LaserJet Pro M1536dnf and Officejet 6500A Plus.
