Build and Design
The WorkForce Pro WP-4540 has a new look and feel compared to the traditional WorkForce lineup thanks to the stacked paper trays and large 5.8-inch touchscreen. The body is done almost completely in a matte black with a few touches of glossy black paneling. The approximate dimensions come in at 18 x 17 x 17-inches when in storage, but the device can expand out to about 18 x 26 x 18-inches when you are printing.

The 30-sheet automatic document feeder sits on top of the scanner lid and allows users to copy, scan or fax double-sided documents up to 8.5 x 14-inches in size. The 48-bit flatbed scanner has a maximum scan size of 8.5 x 11-inches with a scan resolution up to 9600 x 9600 dpi interpolated.

The control panel offers business users a 5.8-inch smart touch panel with a 3.5-inch LCD along with an alphanumeric key page, three device keys and five quick keys. The front side USB port is located just beneath the control panel.

The WorkForce Pro WP-4540 features a 4-color DURABrite Ultra pigment ink system with new extra large 676XL ink cartridges with an average yield of 2400 pages black and 1200 pages color.  Access the stationary cartridges by flipping open the front panel.

The paper capacity for the WorkForce Pro WP-4540 is a whopping 580-sheets, touted by Epson as the highest in its class when it was released a few months back. There are two 250-sheet paper trays found on the front of the device and an 80-sheet rear folding tray found behind the ADF. Between the three trays, the WorkForce Pro WP-4540 can accommodate a variety of media up to 8.5 x 44-inches in size.

All connections are found on the back of the device. The WorkForce Pro WP-4540 gives businesses a plethora of connections choices including Hi-Speed USB 2.0, Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
