BUILD AND DESIGN
The Epson WorkForce 520 may be the fastest all-in-one (AIO) printer in its class (priced at $199 or less) but it looks similar to the WorkForce 610 although a tad bit sleeker.   The WorkForce 520’s dimensions are nearly identical to the WorkForce 610 in storage: 18 x 16 x 9 inches compared to 18 x 14 x 9 inches.

However, the WorkForce 520 is about two pounds lighter than the WorkForce 610 due to the smaller control panel and lack of a built-in card reader.

The fold out 30-page automatic document feeder is found on the top of the WorkForce 520.  This feature is perfect for scanning, copying and faxing larger documents.

Beneath the ADF, users will the 48-bit color flatbed scanner offering a maximum scan resolution of 9600 x 9600 dpi (interpolated) and an optical resolution up to 1200 dpi.  The flatbed can scan documents and photos up to 8.5 x 11.5 inches and features scan-to-email.

The control panel is centered on the front of the WorkForce 520 featuring a two-line text LCD, five speed dials, a numerical key pad, a four way navigational pad, 11 quick keys, and an on button.

Lift at the center of the WorkForce 520 to access the inside of the machine.  Here, users will load the five individual DURABrite Ultra pigment ink cartridges.  The WorkForce 520 is shipped with two standard capacity 125 black ink cartridges and one standard capacity 125 cartridge for each color: cyan, magenta and yellow (CMY).  Users can also purchase high capacity 126 black, 126 cyan, 126 magenta and 126 yellow cartridges.

The extendable output tray is located beneath the control panel.  Users can load up to 100 sheets of paper or 10 envelopes in the rear loading input tray.  The maximum paper size for the WorkForce 520 is 8.5 x 44 inches and it can handle a variety of media including: copy paper, photo paper, presentation paper, etc.

All connection ports are found on the back of the Epson WorkForce 520.   The WorkForce 520 can be set up over a Wi-Fi, Ethernet or Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connection.
