BUILD AND DESIGN
The Epson PictureMate Show is one of two compact photo printers that Epson offers on their site (the other is the Epson PictureMate Charm) and both printers share a similar design: all white exterior and a compact, boxy build.
The PictureMate Show’s approximate dimensions are 9 x 8 x 6 inches when in non-use; the dimensions expand when in print mode or when the frame is tilted. The maximum space the Show requires is about 9 x 13 x 8 inches.
Because the PictureMate Show is compact dedicated photo printer, there isn’t an overload of features and devices. On the top of the printer, users will find the 20-sheet 4×6 paper slot and handle.
On the right side of the Show, users will find the built-in card reader and PictBridge/USB port. The PictureMate Show is compatible with the following media: CompactFlash (Type I and II), SD, SDHC, MMC, Memory Stick, Microdrive and xD-Picture Card (Type M/H).
The 7-inch adjustable photo frame catches the eye immediately on the front of the printer while the paper output and a small Epson logo at the bottom go unnoticed. The 16:9 WVGA display is controlled using a small remote included in the original packaging.
While the PictureMate Show’s size and dye sub cartridge makes it super portable, the printer does need to be plugged into an electrical outlet to work. There is no battery option for the PictureMate Show. You’ll find the power adapter and USB 2.0 port on the back of the Show. Epson does not provide a USB cable in the original packaging.
The 4-color dye cartridge is installed on the back of the PictureMate Show by opening a small panel on the bottom and pulling the release lever (labeled lock).
