Digital Experience! roams the open plains

Last night Pepcom hosted the annual Digital Experience! press event at the Mirage and we were there to give you the whole Digital Safari Experience!

Over one hundred tech companies were in attendance showing off a wide variety of products and services while handing out Safari inspired swag.  More importantly, several major print manufacturers were in attendance showing up recently announced products including: Canon, Kodak, Lexmark and Epson.

Canon had three of the four brand new printers they announced on Tuesday out on display at their booth as well as a display of cameras and camcorders.  We took a brief look at the Pixma MX340, Pixma MX870, and the Pixma iP2702.

Kodak had both of their new inkjet printers – the ESP 7250 and the ESP Office 6150 – on display showing off the new BlackBerry feature.  Similar to what many companies – including Kodak – have offered for the iPhone and iPod Touch, Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry users can now print photos AND documents wirelessly to Wi-Fi enabled Kodak printers.

Lexmark was showing off several relatively new printers including the Interact, X466de, and their top of the line web connected touch based Platinum.  The Lexmark Platinum is a 4-in-1 device offering a 4.3 inch touch screen, two paper trays, a 50-page ADF, built-in duplexing and a built-in card reader.  Definitely a cool printer although it may be out of some household’s price range.  Luckily, Lexmark is currently offering 10 new sleek inkjets including the Platinum.

Epson didn’t have much on display this year other than the Epson Artisan 810 printer which we’ve seen a few times before.  Needless to say, we’ll keep our ear to the ground on anything new coming from Epson in the near future.
