Build and Design

The Pixma MX522 might resemble the flagship Pixma MX922 in design but it actually offers a more compact footprint – 18 x 15 x 8 inches – due to a smaller paper capacity.

The control panel is laid out the same way as the MX922 and the MX892 before it with a slightly smaller 2.5-inch LCD, dual function panel (with intelligent touch), four device keys and a few quick keys. The front side USB port is located on the bottom left corner of the device.

The Pixma MX522 offers a 30-sheet automatic document feeder for scanning, copying or faxing larger jobs up to legal size (8.5 x 14 inches) or a 8.5 x 11-inch flatbed single sheet scanner.

You can lift up under the control panel to access the two ink cartridges: the PG240 black cartridge and CL241 color ink cartridge. Canon also offers high capacity ink replacements: the PG240XL and CL241XL.

Pull out the front panel to release the output tray and 100-sheet input tray. The input tray employs a “one size fits all” method allowing customers to use plain paper, photo paper, envelopes and more.

All connections are found in the back of the Pixma MX522. Users can choose from a USB 2.0, Ethernet or Wireless LAN connection.
