Canon at CES 2010

Canon had a considerable presence at CES this year including: a booth at Digital Experience!, a large booth on the LVCC Central Hall show floor and the 11th Annual Customer Appreciation Reception that includes a silent auction and raffle with all proceeds going to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

We took a swing around Canon’s booth on Thursday afternoon and were impressed with the setup they had going on.  Bright red being the signature color, there were plenty of displays, a live camera setup, and a stage where affiliated Canon partners – such as Julie Morgenstern and Erin Manning – gave lively presentations.

For the incredibly disorganized, Canon and Julie are running a contest to give one lucky winner a complete office makeover in addition to a $2,500 gift card, a new Pixma MX870 and a Powershot camera.  Nine lucky finalists will receive a new Pixma MX870, Powershot camera and a prize package from Julie.  To enter, log on to and submit a JPEG photo of your home office at its worst.  A panel of judges will rate the photos and determine a winner and nine finalists sometime in early March.

Want to see the Pixma MX870, one of the many prizes, in action?  We took a short video at Canon’s booth, along with some more images of the all of the newly released printers.

Canon also leaked information about their new inkjet cartridge recycling program through Generation Green.  In the past, Canon has only collected and recycled their toner cartridges so the new program is a big step forward for the company.
