by Reads (4,238)

Capitalizing on the buzz that CES provides every year, Brother announced four new color LED devices that offer color print speeds up to four times faster than their competitors. The new line – a mixture of single function and multifunction printers – is targeted at small offices with the flagship MFC-9325cw topping out at $449.99.

We received the MFC-9325cw Digital Color All-in-One last week and today we’ll be sharing our hands-on first look with a hard look at build, design, specifications, pricing and more.

Interested but not quite ready to make a purchase? Check back soon for our full review where we’ll take a deep dive into the ins and out of the MFC-9325cw.

Build and Design
If you remember the MFC-9320cw we reviewed two years ago, then you’ll immediately recognize the MFC-9325cw. Chances are, you don’t fall printer technology religiously, and therefore might want a brief refresher. The MFC-9325cw is replacing the MFC-9320cw in the SMB space but shares the same dimensions – 17 x 19 x 16 inches – and same box design. The only noticeable difference will be the panel coloring, black instead of blue.

The MFC-9325cw has a 35-sheet automatic document feeder positioned on top of the scanner lid with a maximum scan size up to legal sized documents. The 48-bit flatbed scanner offers an optical scan resolution up to 1200 x 2400 dpi and be used with the Brother iPrint&Scan app if the MFC-9325cw is set up over a wireless connection.

The control panel on the MFC-9325cw is identical to the previous generation with over a dozen quick keys, three device menu keys, eight fax speed dial keys, an alphanumeric key pad, four-directional navigation pad and a 2-line backlit display.

The 100-sheet output tray is found directly below the control panel; pull up on the front of the output tray (marked with a small white arrow) to access the inside of the machine and four toner cartridges (BYMC, in order they are loaded).

Between the single sheet multipurpose tray and the 250-sheet paper cassette, the MFC-9325dw can handle a variety of media in a range of sizes up to legal sized paper.
