Best Laser-Class Printers for SMB

We shared our top five picks of great laser and LED printers that are excellent choices for the home office and small office but now it’s time to look at laser-class printers that are more suitable for small and medium sized businesses.  And while you will have some cross over between the two lists, all the printers in our SMB top five range in price from $500 – $1200.

While the holiday season usually finds businesses cutting back, we’ve included several low cost laser and LED printers in our list for even the tightest of small office budgets.

Xerox WorkCentre 6505dnThe Xerox WorkCentre 6505dn is an affordable laser entry in Xerox’s lineup targeted at small offices.  It features print, scan, copy, fax and email functionality as well as print speeds up to 24 ppm, print resolution up to 600 x 600 x 4 dpi, built-in networking, front side USB port, 35-sheet automatic document feeder, 250-sheet paper tray, automatic duplexing and a 533 MHz processor with 256 MB of memory standard for $599 after an $150 rebate.

Dell C3760dnThe Dell C3760dn is a single function color printer that is simple to setup and operate, produces quality prints quickly (36 ppm) and offers a good blend of business features – front side USB port, automatic duplexing, power saver – for a relatively low price of $649.  This is a great option if you already have a reliable multifunction unit and want to add some color to your workflow.

3. Brother MFC-9970cdw

Brother MFC-9970cdwThe flagship MFC-9970cdw is a 5-in-1 color laser offering interesting features including a 5-inch color touchscreen display, print speeds up to 30 ppm, a legal-sized scan flatbed with duplex capability, a 50-page ADF and wireless connectivity.  At $699, the inital cost is higher but it adds increased print speeds, a larger ADF and wireless connectivity into the mix.
