Today, N-Trig launches the second generation of its DuoSense Pen family, with 9.5mm, 8mm, and 5.5mm diameter models, which makes the DuoSense Pen family compatible with a wide selection of devices including smartphones, tablets, and touch-screen enabled notebooks.
Similar to its predecessor the DuoSense Pen2 enables on-screen annotation, handwriting, and drawing. The new iteration of the smart pen looks to create a more natural writing experience with, 256 distinct levels of pressure, hover capabilities for added accuracy, and function buttons with advanced palm rejection. The new pen also offers interchangeable tips and configurable side buttons.
Additionally N-trig's new generation of DuoSense Pen & Touch system-on-chip solutions enables OEMs to differentiate their products by adding digital inking, reducing research and development, and lowering costs.
The DuoSense Pen2 family offers both rechargeable and battery operated models. The 9.5mm diameter DuoSense Pen2 is currently in volume production, with engineering samples of the 8mm and 5.5mm models expected to be available in the upcoming months. N-Trig has also announced that Android and Windows systems using the smaller model active pens will be shipping later this year.
