Today, Samsung announced a few additions to its Series 7 lineup, the enhanced Series 7 Chronos and the Series 7 Ultra.
The Series 7 Chronos will be aimed at delivering professional performance in a light form factor, while the Series 7 Ultra will look to add more computing power, stronger graphics, and touch capability to an Ultrabook.
New Series 7 Chronos
The series 7 Chronos will offer strong performance in an even thinner package, in part thanks to a new software solution called RAMacceleratior that provides up to 150 percent increase in speed for web browsing and running apps by taking advantage of existing memory. The notebook will also look to add new utility with ten-finger multi-touch capabilities making the device especially compatible with Windows 8 operating system.
Other than that the new Serieis 7 Chronos follows much of the same frame work of its predecessor with a full aluminum body, an Intel quad-core processor, with up to 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. The device also offers a 2GB external graphics within its slim chassis that measures in at 0.82-inches.
The Series 7 Ultra marks the first Ultrabook in the series 7 family. Similar to the Series 7 Chronos the device will offer a full aluminum body and offers ten-finger multi-touch support. The device will also offer a full HD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution with wide 178-degree viewing angles and 350nit brightness.
The notebook will come equipped with either an i5 or i7 third generation processor with up to 256GB SSD, and AMD graphics. The device will also be available with 4G LTE connectivity as an option.
Unfortunately pricing for either device has yet to be announced and both devices are set to be shown next week at CES in Las Vegas.
