OCZ today announced that Indilinx's Everest SATA 3.0, 6 Gbps solid state drive platform is now included in LG Z330 Ultrabooks. OCZ states that the Everest-based SSDs provide "instant" boot-up of the ultrabook and a reduced footprint of the notebook's form factor. The LG Ultrabook Z300 is the company's thinnest notebook to date.
Everest allows for SSDs that are 25 percent slimmer than the standard 2.5-inch (9.5mm) laptop hard drives and SSDs. With the conception of the platform in the SSDs, OZA states that [upcoming and recent] LG premium Ultrabooks will and do have smaller dimensions without sacrificing speed, storage space or dependability.
The custom-designed mSATA SSD will be available in the 256GB storage capacity. As Ultrabooks take over the notebook industry, OCZ states that the SSDs on the Everest platform will also help improve overall battery life.
