Acer Announces New TimelineX Laptops

Acer America today announced the release of its newest Acer Aspire TimelineX series notebooks promising improved style, performance and long battery life.

The all new Acer Aspire TimelineX series is available in three sizes -- the 13.3-inch 3830T, 14-inch 4830T and 15.6-inch 5830T -- each of which freature a redesigned notebook chassis and clean layout with a large touchpad and chiclet keyboard. These new laptops are powered by the second-generation "Sandy Bridge" Intel Core i5 and i3 processors to provide improved multi-tasking performance, a better video experience and longer battery life than previous generation laptops. Acer claims battery life of up to nine hours on models with integrated graphics and up to eight hours for models with discrete graphics, as well as a battery life cycle of up to four years.

All of the new Acer Aspire TimelineX models feature HD Widescreen "CineCrystal" LED-backlit displays with 16:9 aspect ratios and 1366x768 resolution. No higher resolution options are available at the time of this writing. Multiple configurations in the new lines come with discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M and Nvidia 520M graphics with NVIDIA Optimus technology to once again maximize battery life. These notebooks also feature HD webcams with 1280x1024 resolution and all models have 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi as well as Gigabit Ethernet LAN. Some, but not all, of the new TimelineX configurations include Bluetooth.
