Performance is the G53SW's primary focus. It features the latest in technology, including one of Intel's second-generation Core i7 quad-core processors, Nvidia's GeForce GTX 460M graphics card with 1.5GB of fast GDDR5 memory, a generous 8GB of RAM, and an extremely fast 750GB 7200RPM hard drive. In short, the G53SW put up some impressive numbers in our synthetic benchmark tests.

Although gaming enthusiasts are the core audience for this particular laptop, any PC user looking for a high-performance notebook is likely to find this hardware has more than enough muscle to handle any application you throw at it. Software like Photoshop and Premiere are a walk in the park compared to some of the latest 3D games.

Gaming Benchmarks
We ran two real-world gaming benchmarks on our G53SW: EA's infamous Crysis and Valve's Left 4 Dead 2. Both games were run on high settings at a 1080p resolution. For reference, we are looking for a minimum of 30 frames per second (FPS) for smooth gameplay.

The G53SW's Core i7 processor and Nvidia GTX 460M graphics card produce more framerates than are required to make the game playable. In general, expect this notebook to play even the most demanding games on high settings at a 1080p resolution.
