First Look at the New HP Notebooks

The HP ProBook 5330m is less than 1-inch thin, features a dual-tone color scheme, brushed aluminum chassis and backlit keyboard and is HP's first business notebook to offer "Beats Audio" with software-enhanced audio playback over the built-in speakers and the earphone jack. The ProBook 5330m features a 13.3-inch anti-glare display (1366x768) and second-generation Intel Core i-series processors, including the dual-core i3 and i5 variants. It does not have an internal optical drive but weighs 4.0 lbs and measures 12.1" x 8.9" x 1". Specifications include up to 8GB of RAM via two open memory upgrade slots, available 7200RPM hard drives and SSDs, a USB/eSATA combo port, HDMI, available integrated mobile broadband, and a backlit keyboard. HP says its 4-cell (41Wh) battery offers up to 5 hours, 45 minutes of battery life. Starting price of the new ProBook 5330m is $799.00.

HP's smallest and lightest EliteBook at only 3.68 pounds, the HP EliteBook 2560p features an all new design and includes a 12.5-inch diagonal HD display (1366 x 768), high-performance Intel processor, and is the only notebook in the industry with an integrated optical drive in this form factor. Other features of the 2560p include a USB/eSATA combo port, ExpressCard/34, and available integrated mobile broadband. HP claims the standard 3-cell battery provides up to four hours of life; the 6-cell (62Wh) up to 8 hours, 30 minutes; and the 9-cell (100Wh) up to 14 hours, 15 minutes. You can expect the EliteBook 2560p to start shipping on May 23 with a starting price of $1,099.00.

For those road warriors who need a portable laptop but also want the flexibility of a writing tablet, the 12.1-inch HP EliteBook 2760p tablet PC allows for pen use or finger touch directly on the screen. The exterior design hasn't really changed with this latest generation of the EliteBook tablet, but inside you'll find newer Intel processors and graphics. HP is now also offering the "HP DataPass" which is a prepaid 3G mobile broadband service that allows users to purchase wireless broadband data using major mobile carriers in the U.S. without being tied down by contracts, hotspots and set-up fees.
