PC Shipments Increase, Toshiba Out of Top 5

Gartner Research recently released their report on PC shipments in the second quarter of 2010. The study shows ASUS has edged Toshiba out of the top five PC makers in global market share, showing an astounding 78.5% increase in market share on-year from 3.5% to 5.2%.
HP remains the world's largest PC marker with a 17.4% share, however is down from 18.8% a year ago. Acer is in second place with 13% share, up from 12% a year ago.

PC shipments have increased in the U.S. by 16% from the same period last year. PC shipments are overall very strong this year.
