Leaked Acer Aspire One 571 has Blu-ray, 720p Screen
According to a post on macles.blogspot, Acer is planning to introduce an Aspire One 571 netbook with a higher-resolution screen and high-definition playback capability. The Aspire One 751 will still have a 10.1-inch screen, but the resolution has been increased to 1280x720 (16:9). Its Intel Atom N280 processor does not have the power to run high-definition video, so Acer equipped the 571 with a Quartics Q1721 Multimedia Coprocessor, which can process H.264 in addition to hardware scaling and filtering.
The other interesting feature about the Aspire One 571 is the addition of an optical disc drive, but this is no ordinary optical disc drive: it is a mini Blu-ray player that sits under the left palmrests. Mini Blu-ray discs hold 1GB of data and have a 32mm diameter.
There is no word on pricing or a release date.
