AMD Launches ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4000 for Notebooks
2009 International CES - AMD today introduced the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4000 series graphics cards for notebooks. The HD 4000 series supports Microsoft's DirectX 10.1 technology.
The flagship Mobility Radeon HD 4800 series is designed for serious gaming performance. The mid-range HD 4600 delivers a balance between performance and power saving mobility. The HD 4500 and HD 4300 are designed for thin-and-light notebooks. AMD says the new Mobility Radeon HD 4000 series cards deliver up to twice the performance as the HD 3000 series at their respective power levels.
The HD 4800 series features ultra-fast GDDR5 memory; the Mobility Radeon HD 4870 has up to 1.8x the performance of the company's previous flagship, the HD 3870. The Mobility Radeon HD 4870 is the first graphics card to use GDDR5 memory.
