Nvidia 8800M-GTX 512MB reviewed & benchmarked

Justin from XoticPC.com has performed thorough benchmarks on the new top-end GPU from Nvidia, the GeForce 8800M-GTX. The card features a 256-bit memory bus, 512MB of dedicated DDR3 memory, and is DirectX 10-compliant. The test system was a top-of-the-line Sager NP5792 gaming notebook.

The benchmarks consist of 3DMark06, Crysis Demo, Unreal Tournament III, PC Mark, Cinema 4D, and Vista's WEI. Here is a taste of what the 8800M-GTX has to offer:

With medium settings in Crysis running at a relatively high 1280x1024 resolution, the 8800M-GTX housed in the Sager NP5792 netted an average FPS of 37.5, which is extremely impressive.

Asus Eee PC touchscreen mod

The Asus Eee PC has been modded to have touchscreen functionality; a touchscreen kit is priced at only about $100, and can be had for even less with some shopping. Videos and pictures follow in the link.

Asus Eee PC shipments top 350,000 in less than one quarter
