Averatec will be releasing a couple of new Vista laptops on May 11th. The Averatec 1579 will be an 11" screen ultraportable that uses a Core Duo ultra low voltage 1.06GHz processor, has 1GB of RAM and 120GB hard drive. The Averatec 2371 will be a 12" screen ultraportable set to replace the current 2370 model.

Some pictures of the Averatec 1579 can be found on the Buy.com website where it lists for $1,275.99. It's not currently available but according to other websites listing the same model, it will be available to order on May 11th. The basic specs of the Averatec 1579 are as follows:

Apparently the Averatec 1579 will be a rebranded and updated version of the currently available Twinhead Slimnote/Stylebook F11Y sold in Europe and Australia and that is also sold in India as the ACI DimiQ 1100. A review of that notebook with an older Core Solo processor can be found here.
The Averatec 2371 will be an update to the currently available Averatec 2370. Not much is known about the specs on this notebook other than it will be almost precisely the same as the 2370, but will offer Windows Vista instead of the current Windows XP. The only thing we expect to change with the 2371 is the operating system offering -- a switch to Vista from XP.
