The first pictures of a new Sony VAIO have appeared on the web, this is the first notebook we can confirm is powered by Intel's new Dothan processor. The specs on this sweet looking VAIO include up to a 2.0GHz Pentium M Dothan processor, 80 GB 5400RPM Hard Drive, 17" Wide Screen UXGA, ATI Radeon 128MB Graphics processor and a thin yet wide design.
The new Sony VAIO A17 has appeared in Japan! It's thin, but wide.
It appears buyers can choose a 15.4 inch screen or 17" inch screen in widescreen format and there is a choice between a 1.8GHz Pentium M processor or 2.0GHz Pentium M processor. We expect Sony to make a U.S. announcement about this notebook next Tuesday at around the same time Intel officially releases it's Dothan processor. Hopefully there will be more notebooks from other manufacturers. This offering from Sony certainly does look intriguing and we look forward to finding out more about it.
