IBM will be rolling out an update to its current ultraportable notebook, the X30, in the form of the ThinkPad X40 laptop. The IBM X40 should be available in the U.S. by February, it is already available in certain Asian countries.
IBM is outsourcing production of the X40 to the Taiwanese manufacturer Wistron. Wistron also manufactures laptops for Dell, Acer and HP. The X40 is already available to Japanese buyers, checkout the IBM Japan website in which they feature the new X40 and is available for purchase online:

The X40 will weigh 1.24kg and measure 268 x 211 x 20.6-26.9 mm (length x width x thickness)
